I want to use innovation to create products and services that enhance the way people live. By using research and technology to enhance materials for products, we can either elevate their functionality or make them more sustainable. My multidisciplinary skills in both the engineering and the design industry help me design meaningful products and experiences.
IICONIC footwear is created through a circular design approach. Tackling the main polluting production phases of footwear, such as material extraction of resources and shoe manufacturing. The solution: 3D printed footwear customized to your feet’s shape and recyclable into new shoes. After a shoe has lived its life, the socks yarn and shoe sole are recycled into new yarns and filament. This allows you to always stay on trend and personalize your shoes with the colors and design of your choosing
For the company SmartGoals, I have created a wearable device that could help athletes improve their cognitive processing speed, anticipation and motor speed within a team. Innovation can push athletes beyond existing limits. By stimulating competitiveness, Smart Teams will enhance opportunities for co-adaptation, innovation and creativity. These opportunities can lead individuals towards higher performances.
ELEX offers its users a new lasergaming experience. With its vibration motors and LEDs, people will experience a more realistic and intensified experience. This video will explain the process behind ELEX and how it can be used.
To further develop my skills regarding UX/UI design, I developed the website for the study association of Industrial Design, Lucid.
Along the lines of the brand language of Husqvarna, I created a watering system for large lawns. The system travels over your lawn removing the need for manual labour.
4D textiles can be created from 3D printing on stretched out textiles. This can result in shape changing fabrics that could possibly be used as interfaces for wearables and interiors. By researching the expressivity and interaction of 11 different shape changing textiles with experts in the field, I hope to create a toolkit for textile designers. Consequently, making it easier for desingers to incorporate shape changing interfaces in their work.
MIS is a suit that explores the boundaries of wearable design. Looking at ways to create circular fabric, the suit explores what daily wear on Mars could look like. This resulted into a suit made from glass, 3D printed from Martian sand into different structures to show what you can do with limited resources. By using different 3D printing techniques, multiple ways of printing fabric have been explored.
LAXX is a rubber material created through SLS 3D printing. The material responds to environmental sound by either visualizing a tense or relaxed state. LAXX therefore offers the user an interface that creates an interaction with their environment.
